The EMT Renewal Course includes all 24 hours required by California and meets the CE requirements for content specific course work as required by the NREMT and for meeting the "refresher" requirements because you have failed the NREMT 3 times. It also includes your EMT Skills Validation applicable to California and NREMT renewal.
The 6 modules are guided self-study that are completed at your convenience. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU ONLY TAKE 2 QUIZZES PER DAY. When you register you will pick the date to come in and test your skills. All of the CE hours are instructor based since we have a staff person assigned to you that you can call or e-mail with any questions. All materials and quizzes are on-line. We even have the skills sheets posted for you to help you prepare. This course also meets the CE requirements for content specific course work as required by the NREMT.
At no extra charge we are now indluding the three new skills required by California for all renewing EMTs: Epinephrine Auto-Injectors, Glucometer, and Naloxone.
WE USE THE AHA eLEARNING MODULE FOR THE BLS PORTION. The purpose of the Basic Life Support course is to convey the proper sequence and application of Basic Life Support techniques. This course will emphasize standard assessment and application skills as recommended by the American Heart Association, International Guidelines for Emergency Cardiac Care. Upon completion of this course, an AHA BLS (CPR) card will be issued signifying attainment of the skill level which each individual participant has obtained.
Once you have accessed ANY of the eLearning online courses, you CANNOT receive a refund for the access code. It is your responsibilty to ensure that you have the ability to access and complete the eLearning portions. You must complete BEFORE you attend the primary course. These are developed by the AHA and are hosted and managed by them. We do NOT take any responsibility for errors or issues arising from the eLearning courses.
There are three components to the Heartcode and eLearning courses.
- Part 1. Students complete the online, cognitive portion of the course, either at the workplace or anywhere with Internet access. When students finish the online portion, a certificate of completion will be available for them to print. The certificate is required to complete Part 2 at an authorized American Heart Association Training Center.
- Part 2. Students complete the skills training / practice test with an American Heart Association Instructor.
- Part 3. Students complete the skills validation test with an American Heart Association Instructor.
Upon successful completion of all three parts, students will be issued an American Heart Association Provider Course Completion Card for the discipline completed.
